As we grow up in a family setting we learn what is and is not acceptable.

We learn to chew with our mouth's closed, do not put your elbows on the table, and your sleeve is not a napkin. These values among other tidbits of understanding are what allow us to recognise others who were from our social level's. We knew people like us would be fine with a seafood fork, types of stemware, and a hot lemon juice dampened cloth napkin before we were served our meal.

We knew that people who did not know this where more comfortable with a bowl of fried chicken and potato salad at a picnic table.

With this understanding - we were not going to embarrass others by enviting them to a situation which was out of their element.
